Accessibility
We strongly believe that everyone has a right to nutritious, local, planet-friendly food. Yet we also recognize that due to a host of complex societal and economic issues, local organic produce is not readily available to many people in our community. While the path forward in addressing this issue ultimately requires a re-imagining of our food system in order to address its many injustices, we are committed to working within existing channels to make our produce more widely accessible within our community.
In line with this goal, we sell our produce to the Interfaith Food Ministry and Hospitality House, who work to feed families in need of assistance and houseless people; along with the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. We also regularly sell and donate produce to Sierra Harvest for its various educational and food distribution programs.
Our other philanthropic endeavors include donations of produce to Nevada County Mutual Aid as well as for events such as the Nevada County Fair, SYRCL River Clean-Up, and the Celtic Fair.
